Robby Peters is an emerging Director and Screenwriter based in Auckland, New Zealand. He entered the film industry at 16, initially exploring various production roles, but over time, he has primarily focused on screenwriting. In addition to his work as a writer, director, and producer, Robby has gained experience in various technical roles, including Camera Assistant, DIT, and Assistant Grip
Robby co-wrote the short film 127, which entered production when he was just 16. The following year, he wrote and directed his own short, Voyeur. In 2020, Money Honey, a short film he produced, won the UNESCO Wellington City of Film Award at the NZ International Film Festival. His most recent music video, Girl Like U, received a ‘Highly Commended’ award at the 2024 Canberra Short Film Festival and was selected for the 2024 Vision Feast Festival in Auckland, NZ.
Since 2015, Robby has pursued studies in dramatic writing, psychology, and photography, and has written four feature film spec scripts and five short films in the process.
Robby is known as a celluloid enthusiast, initially shooting on 35mm, before transitioning to 120mm medium format film, which has since become his preferred medium. He also shares his expertise as a photography and videography tutor at Three Little Wishes Photography.
